The Royal Preston Hospital – New Doorsets Ready to be Delivered

The Bespoke Complete Services team has been working hard to complete the manufacture of several doorsets to be used within a new unit at the Royal Preston Hospital. All of the doors are now completed and are ready delivered to the site, where they will be expertly and professionally installed by specialist building contractor DG Builders.

The Royal Preston Hospital is itself a relatively new site which was designed to bring together the city’s somewhat disparate array of medical services. Many of the units were transferred from Sharoe Green Hospital with the last service, Neurology Rehabilitation, relocating to the Preston site in late 2013. Royal Preston Hospital now comprises a vast and comprehensive array of state-of-the-art services and technologies including dedicated oncology and dialysis clinics, a selection of modern scanners and a world-leading maternity unit. The new unit, in remembrance of Royal Preston Hospital’s predecessor, is named Sharoe Green.

More than 30 pre-hung (on class 13 s/s hinges) doors were supplied to this extensive project. Each was built to impeccable standards with our severe-duty solid particleboard core, faced with quality American ask veneer and finished with a double coat of protective UV lacquer to offer unmatched resistance to damage. To increase safety for staff and patients, the doors were further coated with an anti-microbial finish of professional healthcare standard.

Vision panels were included in the doors and these were glazed using Pyroshield FR30-rated wired glass, laminated for extra strength and ease-of-maintenance. The panels were beaded, with matching hardwood cloaking beads, using our innovative flush-bead system that prevents damage to the doors and offers an extended service life.

As a publicly-funded body, Royal Preston Hospital sought to balance the need for superlative quality with a restricted budgetary allowance. We were proud to offer the best, most-competitive rate for our quality doorsets and delivery to the site was included in our final attractive quote.

BCS to Provide Doors for Brand-New University of York Building

Bespoke Complete Services are extremely proud and excited to announce that we have been selected by leading contractor MWS Joinery (part of the highly-successful Horbury Group based in Rotherham) to manufacture bespoke doorsets for a brand-new building at the University of York. The building is scheduled to open in September 2014, coinciding with the launch of a new undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Sciences, the science that underpins medicine.

The University of York opened its doors to 200 students in 1963. King’s Manor and the Tudor-built Heslington Hall comprised the original university which was quickly added to with the construction of Heslington Campus, the building which is now the main centre of the establishment. Over thirty departments offer access to a diverse range of subjects and the University of York consistently ranks among the ten best in the UK, also holding the impressive record of being one of only two universities to push the University of Oxford from the top spot in the league tables.

The new building will house several state-of-the-art teaching facilities, including various laboratories and a dedicated 120-seat computer and technology suite. As well as providing access to high-spec technology, the extra space will allow for smaller student group tutorials to take place, improving the standard of teaching that is offered.

As the new building at the University of York will be used so frequently and for such a variety of functions, it is essential that the doorsets be strong, durable and safe. Working to a tight budget due to financial restraints and budget cuts, the university required that the most cost-effective plan be selected without compromising on We are extremely proud and excited to announce that we have been selected to manufacture bespoke doorsets for a brand-new building at the University of York.quality and safety; our doorsets were able to admirably achieve and exceed every one of these demanding specifications. Salford Royal Renovation Continues

The extensive refurbishment project at Salford Royal Hospital continues, with Bespoke Complete Services providing a wide range of doors and doorsets to the project. The latest areas of the hospital that have been completed are the Fracture Clinic and Physiotherapy Suite, both of which are busy, important departments.

The doorsets installed in both areas boast appropriate FD30 and FD60 ratings to ensure they offer proven protection in the event of a fire; part of this protection is provided by our innovative particleboard door cores. The specification required the inclusion of several vision panels in many of the doors; these panels were fire-rated Pyrodur30 & Pyrodu60. In order to ensure a close, tight and lasting fit, the glazing of the vision panels was completed with our flush-fitting bead system, leaving a smooth and harmonious finish that will offer continued protection from knocks and scratches (e.g. from wheelchairs and trolleys) to this frequently used department without compromising patient or staff safety.

To add the perfect finishing touch, laminate was used to cover the doors. For the Fracture Clinic, a high-pressure laminate was chosen to protect against the many wheelchairs and trolleys which frequent the department while the Physiotherapy Suite was finished with Zebrano laminate to create a pleasing, relaxing aesthetic conducive to healing.
